Feature February Author Harper Miller

Hello all you romance and erotica fans. Today I have the awesome and somewhat mysterious Harper Miller here for an interview and can’t wait for you to meet her.

Basic RGB

J-Thanks for joining me today, Harper. Can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?

H-Sure! My name is Harper Miller; I’m a single gal in her late 30s who loves good wine, bad B-movies, and books. Oh, I also loooove working out.

J-I wish I loved working out. What genre do you write and why?

H-Erotic Romance/Erotica with some Women’s Fiction thrown in for fun.

J-What is different about your writing style?

H-Hmmm, good question. I want readers to see my characters as everyday people. I know a lot of readers flock to romance for the escapism but my goal is to get readers to say, “Hey! This could be me.” I value some realism in my stories.

J-I do too. I definitely want readers to identify with my characters as well. When did you start writing?

H-About two years ago. It was just something I did for fun and, well, it’s still something I do for fun, except I decided to publish last year.

J-Excellent.  I am new to writing as well and never really imagined I would publish until I did. What books have you published?

H-The Sweetest Taboo: An Unconventional Romance.

J-Looks hot, hot, Hot! Awesome. What is a typical day or week like for you? How do you find time to write?

H-Busy. I work full-time. I usually write on weekends but for the month of February, I’m attempting to write daily so that I can complete my WIP by the end of the month.

J-Yeah, I have a full time day job as well. It is not easy getting actual writing time in on the WIP. A lot of my down time is spent reading. What are you reading right now?

H-I just started an ARC for an author I fan-girl over when in reader mode, lol. It’s a secret, since I try and keep my reader side separate from my author side.

J-You are a little mysterious. Okay. What are you working on next?

H-A sweet and sappy love story, something my mother can read.

J-Ha ha. Are you traditionally published or self-published?

H-Self-pub. I like doing things on my own terms. I enjoy creative control.

J-I do also. I didn’t think I would, but I am finding I really do like having control…er… over my writing. Do you listen to music while writing? Name three songs on your current playlist.

H-I do! I can’t function without music. John Mayer’s “I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)” (I think it’s the theme song for my hero and heroine), Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You,” The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy For the Devil.”

J-Me too. I seem to get more words on the page when music is playing. Tell us a funny story we can’t find on your bio.

H-I once stalked Gwen Stefani when I was 17. Oddly, I’m proud of this. My best friend and I totally did the “Follow that cab!” scene out of a movie. It was lame, but hey, I ended up meeting Gwen that night.

J-How fun. I was a fangirl for a certain boy band that will remain nameless at this time, but I did kind of do the same.
